- A standard primipara is someone expected to have an uncomplicated pregnancy and they will be giving birth for the first time. Intervention and complication rates for these pregnant people should be low and consistent across hospitals and DHBs. Hutt Hospital is an outlier within NZ. In 2018 19.4% of standard primiparae underwent caesarean section. This is the fourth highest caesarean rate for standard primiparae in the country.
