Video Clips
Also this year for International Midwives' Day (5th May) and to celebrate 25 years of autonomy for Midwives, midwives and women will be recording short video clips of the joys of being a midwife or positive statements about "My Midwife.....". These will then be circulated widely by members through social media channels up to and on 5th May.
Come on Wellington women and whanau - let's send as many video clips as we can! Wouldn't it be great to hear from parents-to-be, Mums, Dads, partners and others too in Wellington about their experiences of the wonderful work that midwives do.
The objectives are to:
Key messages and filming tips
*Tips for filming*:
If you want to encourage your midwife to do their own video clip then the message we are looking for from midwives is the joy of being a midwife. The clips need to be stand-alone as they will not have any introduction. The message must come from their heart but some ideas include:
I love being a midwife because…
The thing I like most about midwifery is …
Being a midwife means…
Midwifery education in New Zealand…
Council regulates me…
E- mail the clip along with your consent form
Consent form attached here - send the signed copy with your video clip (detailing name of midwife and/or woman if wanted, the region and work setting) to Chris Mallon on [email protected] and [email protected] .
The video clips will be added to youtube and linked from the NZCoM main website and Wellington website.
Leading up to the 5th May we will encourage midwives and women to share this along with the message "International Day of the Midwife" 5th May through their social media. This can be done through the link on the website. Click here for an example video.
